Concealed Carry Training

This course is developed around the State of Louisiana concealed firearms carry instructional requirements with input from various law enforcement offices.

What you will learn:
This course covers the Louisiana Concealed Weapons Law; federal, state, and local restrictions; the Louisiana law concerning the use of deadly force; firearm maintenance and safe storage, equipment and ammunition selection, defensive shooting techniques, and concludes with a live fire practical exercise.
Statutes discussed include:
HB 1097 (2006) "Castle Doctrine" pertaining to civil suits
HB 89 (2006) companion Bill to HB1097
Current Changes regarding Concealed Carry locations, as well as updated application procedures can be found at the site for the Louisiana State Police.

The firing portion consists of the mandated 36 rounds, fired at 6, 10, and 15 feet. It is recommended that if you need more practice, you shoot more than the required 36 rounds- especially if firing your gun for the first time. New firearms should be fired at least 200 times to get familiar with the gun and to ensure any issues are identified at the range.

All instruction materials, range time, and targets are provided by Alexandria Indoor Range, LLC. The student is required to provide a handgun, two magazines or speed loaders, and eye and ear protection. Some type of clothing that will conceal the handgun is also recommended.

For familiarization purposes, various types of handguns will be available for students to shoot.
